Henry Hufford, well known as "Uncle Henry"one of the pioneers of the county and one of its highly esteemed citizens died at his home on Cartersburg road Sunday of old age. He was born in Woodburn county, Kentucky in December 1812 and came to Indiana with his parents in 1829, locating on the farm where he died. After living there a time he went to Putnam county where he entered 160 acres of land.In 1862 he moved back to the old farm in this county and there his remaining years were spent. He was twice married and ten children were born to him, six of whom and his widow, are living-
George W. Hufford, candidate for commissioner, Harrison H. Hufford, trustee of Liberty township, Mrs. Alexander of Kansas, Mrs.Rodney, Mrs.Thompson and Mrs. Bly of this county. Through his life he held to the faith of the Christian church although not a member of the organization. The funeral was Tuesday morning, the services being conducted by Rev.Buchanan of Acton. The remains were placed in the vault at Danville. He was of sturdy stock, a typical pioneer, having come to this county before the Indians had left. His life was well rounded out and is end is in peace
