Leverne (Whisnant) Willard, age 85, of Union, SC, widow of Hazel Willard, joined her loved ones in heaven on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
Mrs. Willard was born in Union, SC June 23, 1927, a daughter of the late William Whisnant and Rhoda (Sealey) Whisnant.
She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Lennis Lawson and husband Johnny, Eugenia "Jeanne" Gregory and husband Keith, and Donna Owings and husband Robin; a brother, Phillip Whisnant all of Union; eight grandchildren: Michael Lawson, Mark Lawson, Eric Lawson, Jennifer Cato, Brian Gregory, Jonathan Gregory, Karen Gregory and Robert Owings; six great-grandchildren: Brandon Lawson, Erica Lawson, Michael Robinson, Cayla Gregory, Hannah Gregory and Peyton Gregory and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Willard was predeceased by her step-mother, Mae Orr Whisnant.
Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Lewis. Burial was in Union Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Willard's grandsons served as active pallbearers.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2013 at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
