Mother of James Edward Hobbs, my Irish Blessing

"Their beautiful example and tenderness to me I can never forget. Their kind words, gentle manners and genuine affection will ever be stamped on my memory.
Alas ! they have gone to the spirit land and are beckoning
us to join them in the paradise of God. Long shall memories
of their "noble deeds" fall on our hearts, like dew on summer flowers "refreshing."

"You Raise Me Up"

When I am down and, oh, my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up to more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up to more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up to more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up to more than I can be.

You raise me up to more than I can be.

An Irish Mum

Your life was one of kindly deeds
A helping hand for other’s needs
Sincere and true in heart and mind
Beautiful memories left behind

The surname Fitzgerald is a translation of the French-Norman fils de Gérald, or son of Gerald. Gerald from "ger", spear, and "wald", rule, or Son of the Spear Ruler.
