Henry was born and raised in Edwardsville, Ill. He worked for the Litchfield and Madison railroad as an engineer. He died of a heart attack at his home in Edwardsville. He never married and had lived with and supported his mother after his father's death. Henry was known as the "Little Dutch Engineer" by the railroad community in which he worked. He was a member of the Botherhood of Locamotive Firemen and a prominent member of the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias Lodge.
Henry was survived by his mother, Sophia Aldrup, sister Clara (Aldrup) Mallette of St. Louis, Mo., niece Hilda (Mallette) Beyer of Baltimore, Maryland and other relatives and friends in the Madison County area.
