William was born in Pittsburgh, Penn. July 3, 1857. He was one of 10 children born to his parents Mr. & Mrs. Henry Aldrup. At the age of 10 his family made the move to Edwardsville, Ill.
William married Sophia Miller on April 28, 1886 in Edwardsville, Ill. To the union 3 Children were born; one daughter Mrs. Clara Mallette and two boys Henry and Carl. Carl died two years ago of complications after appendicitis.
William's father had an interest in the manufacturing of brick and William had followed in his father's interest for many years.
He died March 21, 1918 after a 10 year long illness of Rheumatism and finally of stomach troubles. He is survived by his wife Sophia, son Henry, daughter Clara (Aldrup) Mallette and granddaughter Hilda Lillian Mallette all of Edwardsville and the last surviving sibling Mrs. Mary Fisher of St. Louuis, Mo.
William and his wife Sophia are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in a family plot he bought when his son Carl died. There are no stones for William, Sophia or Henry.
