"Cookie attended Roseville schools graduating from HS in class of 1965 and Sierra College. She received her degree in accounting from Sacramento State University. She worked for the Department of Defense for 5 years, the Southern Pacific Railroad Company for 10 years, and retired after 23 years as a revenue agent for the IRS. At age 61 she died unexpectedly while vacationing in Playa del Carmen. Survived by her husband Richard, her daughter Danielle, and her brother Terry. Predeceased by her parents and brother Wayne.

She died unexpectedly on June 21, 2008 while vacationing with a group of friends in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Jolene was the daughter of Helen Sharp, deceased 2006, and Raymond Sharp, Roseville Asst. Fire Chief, who died in 1968. She was the sister of Wayne Sharp, deceased 2005. She is survived by her brother, Terry Sharp (Linda), daughter Danelle Adams , husband and best friend, Richard Adams , numerous nieces and nephews, her close friends for over 40 years, Gillian and Chuck Barr, and numerous family and friends. Jolene attended local schools, including Roseville High School and Sierra College, and received her degree from Sac State University in accounting. She was employed by the Department of Defense for five years, the Southern Pacific Railroad in Roseville as a clerk for ten years, and retired after a 23-year career as a Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service in Sacramento. Jolene was known for her sense of humor and her quick wit. She had the ability to make friends instantly. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and parties for her friends at her home in Roseville. She loved to read, and also enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing Freecell on the computer. In her younger years, she went on many camping trips and also enjoyed baking cakes. In the last months of her life, she volunteered at the ReStore in Roseville. Jolene was loved by many and will be sorely missed. There will be a memorial service held at the Roseville Cemetery Pavilion, 421 Berry Street, Roseville, CA on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. Reception will follow at the Moose Lodge, 506 Lincoln Street, Roseville, CA. Contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity at P. O. Box 386, Roseville, CA 95678.
