Suggested edit: Abner Taylor and Joanna Chase had eight children, three sons and 5 daughters. Greenleaf, who was born in 1817 and died in West Wareham in 1883, was the eldest; next was his brother Owen Chase Taylor, a mariner born in 1819, who died during a gale off Cape May. Both Greenleaf and Owen married sisters, Julia Ann Forrester and Esther Forrester, respectively. Julia Ann died in Pocasset in 1853; she may be buried in Pocasset Cemetery. Greenleaf's youngest sister was also called Julia Ann; she died in 1856. Sisters Reliance and Levina Taylor married brothers Gilbert and John Avery; Rosetta Taylor married Noah Hammond; they went west to Colorado on a wagon train. Mary B. Taylor married John Benson of West Wareham. After Joanna Chase's death in about 1839, Abner married a widower named Maria Meloon Duncan who was originally from Maine. Her children lived in Providence, Rhode Island, so after several years of marriage Abner and Maria relocated to Providence. At the end of his life, Abner lived with his youngest son, Abner Davis Taylor in Wareham, where he died in 1885.
