Ilo S. Burnell, 94, of Mansfield, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Crystal Care Center of Mansfield. Born May 28, 1918 in Edison, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Pearl (Long) Sherman.

Before moving to Mansfield, Ilo worked at Hydraulic Manufacturing Company for four years in Mt. Gilead. She retired from F.W. Woolworth as a sales clerk after 15 years of service to Mansfield shoppers. Following retirement, Ilo volunteered with Conard House for four years, the Salvation Army for 12 years, and Mansfield Memorial Homes gift shop for four years. She was also a member at First English Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son, Elvin (Linda) Burnell of Ontario; grandchildren, Natalie Burnell, Valerie Burnell, Nathan Burnell, Vanessa (Jim) Burnell Swanger, Brigette (Scott) Burnell Evans, and Tanya Burnell; 12 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Friends may also call hour one prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in River Cliff Cemetery in Mt. Gilead.
