George was the son of Steamer Captian Charles Irvine McNeill born in Maine, and Mary Alma Irving born in Canada. In 1920 the family was living in Mobile, AL with 3 young children all born in Canada; George and 2 younger sisters Marion and Nettie F.
George was a merchant seaman as was his father. He traveled the world and sent postcards to his niece for her collection. He never had children of his own. He died of cardic arrest in a Houston, TX hospital on New Years day 1956. He is buried beside his wife Gwendolyn in Mobile, AL
