BAKER, Bennie W., age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 12, 2013. He pastored several Southern Baptist churches in the central Florida area. He was also a faithful servant of several ministries including Chaplain of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and the Bethany Baptist Church Food Pantry. These ministries served as pathways for him to witness to others and share the good news of Jesus to everyone he came in contact with.

Bennie is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty Baker; children Becky Mullis (Terry) of Lakeland, Krista Beauchamp (Johnnie) of Plant City, and Larry Baker (Shannon) of Lakeland; sister Anna Crenshaw of Wildwood, and Lottie Connell of Jacksonville; 7 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Bethany Baptist Church, 3409 Cork Road, Plant City, where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Memorial Park, Plant City. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the following: The Gideons International, Plant City Camp, P.O.
