Ernest Gene Lueck Jr.
After a lifetime of serving God, Ernest Gene Lueck Jr. was called home to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday, December 18, 2010.He was born to Ernest Gene Lueck and Sophie Alice Wilmore Lueck on November 19, 1930, in Grand Prairie, Texas, where he grew up.

Ernie was married to Dorothy Glen Kerss on July 22, 1950. He served proudly in the US Marine Reserves until he was called to active duty in the Korean War, where he served in the 1st Marine Division, Charlie Battery, Heavy Artillery from 1950 to 1952.

He returned home to live and run his own business, Lueck Plumbing, Heating and A/C in Irving from 1954 to 1976, at which time he moved his business and residence to Double Oak, Texas.

His church home was Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, which he helped build and where he served as elder for many years. He did volunteer work with Community Christian Action and Habitat for Humanity in Lewisville and also the Nelson Center in Denton.

Ernie was a kind, loving and humble man with integrity, honesty and a heart of gold who loved God, his country, his family and his friends. He could always be counted on to do the right thing, and he inspired others, through his example, to also do the right thing.

He is survived by his loving family - wife of 60 years and love of his life, Dorothy; his daughter Karen and her husband Michael Watters of Highland Village and his son Stephen and his wife Jill Lueck of San Anselmo; four grandchildren, Bryan Watters, Daniel Watters, Charles Lueck and Josephine Lueck; and a vast array of friends who loved him dearly and will miss his quick smile, helpful hands and gentle spirit.

A celebration of Ernest's life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound. Interment will follow at Flower Mound Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.

The family requests memorial contributions to be made Lamb of God Lutheran Church or The Alzheimer's Association of Greater Dallas at 7610 N Stemmons Freeway, Ste. 600, Dallas, TX 75247.
