Obituary: Edward J. Lang, age 71, of 8630 Cty Hwy JJ, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, May 31, 2000, at his residence. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Revs Bruce McKenney and Robert Kujawski will officiate with entombment in Knollwood Mausoleum. Mr. Lang was born February 22, 1929, in Sheboygan Falls, son of the late John and Leona Neuber Lang. He attended schools in Valders. Ed was a United States Army Veteran, serving from January 8, 1951 until June 26, 1951. On August 11, 1951, Edward was married to the former Jeanette A. Vetting, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Ed has worked as a Auto Mechanic at Larson's Garage in Valders, and retired from Jagemann Plating in 1992 as a Truck Driver. Member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, retired member of the Branch Fire Department where he held several offices, member of the Wisconsin Steam Antique Engine Club, member of the Manitowoc Senior Center, and for several years delivered Meals On Wheels, was a volunteer driver for the American Red Cross, and was a member of the Manitowoc Historical Society, and was a an active volunteer at Pinecrest Historical Village. Survivors include his wife Jeanette, rural Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law, Dale (Deb) Lang, School Hill; two granddaughters, Sage Sage and Chelsea Lang; his constant companion, Mindy his cat; one sister and brother-in-law, Alice (Don) Meyers, Manitowoc; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jim (Phyllis) Lang, Oskaloosa, Iowa, Ronald Lang, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law, Robert (Bernice) Vetting, Manitowoc, Gordon (Karen) Vetting, Wauwatosa, Kenneth (Dorothy) Vetting, California, Charlotte Carmichael, Indiana; one uncle and two aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Neuber, Sheboygan, Romelda Neuber, Kiel. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother-in- law and father-in-law. Relatives and friends may call at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9 a.m until the time of services. Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Services, Manitowoc is serving the family.
