Lorraine M. Lau, age 78, of 1700 S. 18th St. (Felician Village), Manitowoc, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at St. Mary's Home Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M., with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum in the town of Kossuth.

Lorraine was born on Feb. 19, 1921 at Sheboygan Falls, daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Ardts Federer. Lorraine graduated from Kohler High School with the class of 1939.

She married James Lau of June 26, 1943 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Sheboygan. Lorraine and Jim farmed in the town of Meeme for 40 years.

Lorraine was also a secretary at the Meeme Elementary School for 12 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Cleveland Senior Center and the Grandmas Club.

Survivors include her husband James Lau of Manitowoc; four sons and daughters-in-law, four daughters and sons-in-law; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clem and Marcie Federer of Manitowoc; and Jerry and Margie Federer of Agoura Hills, Calif. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ralph Lau; one daughter, Grace T. Dietzler; and a brother.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 p.m., and at St. Mary's Home Chapel on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services at 9 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, led by Rev. Wojciechowski
