Phillip E. "Doc" Bryant, 65, of Strattanville, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

Born Jan. 2, 1948 in Monroe Township, he was the son of Francis "Earl" and Opal J. (Henry) Bryant.

On April 14, 1968, Doc married Donna M. (Seybert) Bryant, and she survives.

A U.S. Army veteran, Doc was employed by PennDOT as a heavy machine mechanic for several years.

He was a member of the New Hope Church of Clarion.

Doc volunteered at Clarion University and the Clarion County Jail.

He was passionate about missionary work and was a member of Wycliff Ministries, which traveled to Mexico.

He also enjoyed fishing, small repairs on lawnmowers and weed-eaters, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Doc was a member of the Silver Sneakers Club at the YMCA.

Surviving are his wife Donna Bryant of Strattanville; three daughters, Bobbi Nulph and companion, Jason Suhan,of Summerville, Amy Young and her husband, Matthew, of Distant, and Amber Bryant of Strattanville; and a son, Jeremy Bryant and companion, Amanda McEntyre, of Clarion.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kayla Nulph, Trenton Keighley, Zayden Young, Brandon Young, Meg Suhan and Cadence Suhan.

He is also survived by three sisters, Janice Gourley and her husband, Keith of New Bethlehem, Cindy Vogle and her husband, Dan, also of New Bethlehem, and Annette Hoover and her husband, Butch, of Shippenville; and three brothers, Samuel Bryant and his wife, Pam, of of Mexico City, Mexico, Randy Bryant and his wife, Lexi, of New Bethlehem and Gary Kahle and his wife, Georgine, of Brighton, Mich.

Friends of Phillip E. "Doc" Bryant will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Varner Funeral Home, 1632 Bald Eagle St., Sligo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the New Hope Community Church, 1578 Route 322, Clarion. Pastor Colin Cook and family friend Elder Alan Meeker will officiate.

Military honors will be accorded following the service at the church.

Private burial at Cedarview Memorial Park will follow.
