BETH R. LANA was born in Ryan, Okla., on Feb. 17, 1925, to Virgil and Texie English Robnett, and passed away in Abilene, Texas, on March 15, 2013. She graduated from Ryan High School and earned a B.A. in music from Southeastern State College, Durant, Okla., and an M.A. in education from the University of Oklahoma. Beth taught first grade in Duncan, Okla., from 1957-74, and was a teacher and grade school principal at Fort Worth Christian Schools from 1974-79. She served as secretary and advisor to the English Dept. at Abilene Christian University throughout the 1980s and '90s. She enjoyed tennis, music, traveling, playing table games and cooking for her family. Beth was devoted to her church family and found many sweet ways to serve her Lord.
Beth married Bert Lana in 1946.
She is survived by husband, Bert; a son, Philip; daughters-in-law, Chris and Trisha; granddaughters, Brooke, Lisa, Rebecca and Jessica; a brother, David Robnett; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and the family she adopted through special loving care - Josh, Doris, Drexel and Jacqueline Owusu.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Don.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US Hwy 277 South, on Monday, March 18, at 3 p.m.
Beth may be honored through donations to the Christian Service Center in Abilene.
