WILLIAM H. ADE IS DEAD AT HOSPITAL IN CHICAGO

Brother of Author Injured in Fall Six Years Ago--Once Ran for Congress
KENTLAND, Ind., June 19--William H. Ade, aged sixty-one, brother of George Ade, the author, and one of the widely known citizens of northwestern Indiana, died suddenly yesterday at the Henrotin hospital in Chicago. His life was spent here and he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ade, his father having been a farmer and banker.
Six years ago Mr. Ade was injured in a fall and he had been an invalid practically ever since. His back was injured and later he developed a heart ailment. Ten days ago he went to the hospital in Chicago for a surgical operation and appeared to be recovering, but yesterday morning suffered a relapse and his death occurred a short time later. George Ade was at his at Brook when the news came and left immediately for Chicago.
Mr. Ade was a farmer, who was principally interested in the breeding of horses. He had acquired a large fortune and was active in advanced farming movement throughout his part of the state. In 1912 he became a Progressive in politics, and in 1914 he ran for congress on the Progressive ticket from the Tenth Indiana district.
His youngest sister is the wife of Warren T. McCray, Republican nominee for governor. In addition to her and his brother, George, he also is survived by Joseph, a brother, who is on the George Ade farm at Brook; a sister, Mrs. John W. Randall, of Washington, D.C., and another sister, Mrs. John G. Davis, of Kentland. He married Miss Kate Shepard, of Goodland, who with three children survive, one daughter, Mrs. J.D. Rathbun, of Kentland; Miss Ardis Ade, and a son, Roland Ade.
For several terms Mr. Ade was treasurer of Newton county. The body will be brought to Kentland and funeral services will be conducted at the Ade home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be at Kentland.
Note: 1860 Newton Co. census shows William, aged 1. It is believed that his age was rounded off, since if he was born 3 Aug 1859, he would have been 10 months old at the time of the census.
