Kathleen M. Braun, age 78, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, formerly of 909 Dewey Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at the home.

She was born July 20, 1927 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Karkow Hastreiter. Kathleen was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1945. On May 18, 1946 she married Harold J. Braun at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death June 27, 2000. Kathleen was a clerical assistant at Sears Department Store from 1952 to 1966 and Lapcor Plastics/Newell Corp. from 1966 until her retirement in 1985.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judie & Chuck Tadych, Jeanne & Ken Schipper, all of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Robert (Stephanie) Schipper, Derek (Tara) Schipper, Heather (Joshua) Andrew, Tracy (Chris) Bandt, Troy (Melody) Tadych, Todd Tadych and special friend, Jessica Devenish; ten great grandchildren, Braedon & Cameron Bandt, Brady, Bryce, Addison, Riley & Sydney Schipper, Kasimir & Augustus Tadych, Hunter Andrew; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger & Carole Hastreiter, Manitowoc and three brothers-in-law, Eugene Braun & his wife, Dorothy, Clem Braun & his wife, Marianne and Jerome Braun & his wife, Darlene, all of Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, especially at St. Mary's Home & Harmony West, also survive. She was also preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Torrie Kathleen Tadych and a sister, LaVerne Weiss Harrell.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi - Grand Avenue Site, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Hoffman with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 5 to 7 p.m Wednesday where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary's Home and Harmony West for their compassionate care and support given to Kathleen and her family.
