ALVIN G. LEICHT

Alvin G. Leicht, age 100, of Combined Locks, died at Cherry Meadows on Monday July 9, 2007.

He was born on May 27, 1907, in Manitowoc, to the late John and Clara (Radl) Leicht. Alvin was part of the first class to graduate from the "new" Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, in 1925. Following graduation he married Irene Mrozinski on Sept. 1, 1932, at St. Mary's in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death three weeks before their 65th anniversary in August of 1997.

He was employed with the Manitowoc Ship Building Company until his retirement in 1976. Alvin recently became a member of St. Paul Parish, Combined Locks, and was a long-time member of St. Andrew Parish, Manitowoc. He was a life member of the Eagles and was recently recognized as being the oldest active member of the Heart of the Valley YMCA.

In addition to his wife and parents Alvin was preceded in death by his brother: Edwin Leicht.

The Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at St. Paul Parish, 410 Wallace St., Combined Locks, with the Rev. James Lucas officiating. Visitation will start at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2007, until the time of Mass directly at church. Committal will take place at Knollwood Chapel, Manitowoc.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for the Community Hospice Foundation.

O'Connell Funeral Services, 2020 E. Main St., Little Chute, 920-759-2951, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The Leicht family would like to extend a special thank you to Terry Reigal (Reigal Homecare) and Barbara Homstead, as well as his many neighbors, for their care and support. Also, thank you to the hospice staff at Cherry Meadows and Theda Care at Home.
