Mrs. Bertha A. Nitterhouse died at the Guilford Convlesarium on May 12, 1974 (Mother's Day) after a long illness.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church; Auxiliary to Charles Nitterhouse Post No. 1599, VFW and Auxiliary to BPOE No. 600. She was the widow of William L. Nitterhouse, who died Dec. 6, 1944.
She was the daughter of the late Moses D. and Fannie M. Kaufman Karper. She was the last of her immediate family.
Two sons and two daughters, Theodore K., Kenneth L., Louise (Mrs. Ralph) Hair and Mary Jane (Mrs. Fred) Johnston; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren survived her. Son William H. (Jimmy) died in 1956.
