IRENE M. BOETTCHER MILLER

Irene M. Boettcher Miller (Mrs. Leonard W.), 85, formerly of Reedsville, died Saturday, April 15, 1989, at Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc.

Irene was born October 19, 1903, at Reedsville, daughter of the late Fred and Ida (née Meyer) Boettcher. She was a graduate of Reedsville High School in 1922 and Manitowoc County Normal in 1923. She taught at Brookside School in rural Reedsville from 1923 to 1924.

Irene married Leonard W. Miller, June 15, 1924, at St. John St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Mrs. Miller resided on a farm at Clarks Mills for several years and then moved to the Boettcher Homestead at Reedsville. They moved to the Village of Reedsville in 1930 where they operated Millers Service Station with William Miller. In 1943 they took over sole operation of the Station and Implement Business until 1973.

Mrs. Miller was a Homemakers Leader for many years and was employed with the Herald Times Reporter in the 1930's. She was a lifetime member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. She was a past member of Reedsville Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Francis Dolezal of Reedsville and Bonnie and Russ Amos of Vienna, Virginia; a grandson, David Dolezal of Mobile, Alabama and two granddaughters, Victoria Dryden and Angela Amos, also of Vienna, Virginia; three great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Lillian Sobiech and Mabel Schroeder of Manitowoc, Violet Barth of Green Bay, Myrtle Schanke of Menasha ,and Louise and Reuben Kodet of Cedar Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, December 17, 1986, her parents and a sister, Mildred Tikalsky.

Funeral services will be at St. John St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville and entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum.
