Son of John Emmons Blaine and Alice Edith (Morgan) Wentz.

Robert enlisted in WWII on November 24, 1942. He became a Sergeant and was assigned to overseas duty on January 1, 1944. Robert was a rear wing gunner on a B-24 plane. He was reported missing on February 4, 1944 in a plane crash in the Tyrrhenian Sea. His plane had been shot down. His body, along with 2 others, washed ashore in a rubber raft on Sardinia Island. He was buried in Italy. At the request of his parents, his body was flown home for re-interment at Greenwood Cemetery December 4, 1948.

Robert never married and had no children.
