Mae taught in the rural schools of Iowa.
She married the Rev. Bruce Jones at Thornton, Iowa in 1944. Mae was a faithful supporter of her husband's ministry for 42 years. She served in many positions with the United Methodist Women, including President of the Cal-Nevada Central District. Wherever she served, Mae always offered support and encouragement to those with whom she worked.
Mae and Bruce had three children, Rosemary Dee Carrel, of Sammamish, WA, Kathryn DeCristofaro of Magalia, CA, and Dr. David Jones of York PA. In addition, she is survived by 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren
Mae was preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister.
After husband, Bruce, went to the Lord in 2008, she moved from Lodi to the Feather Canyon retirement complex. She joined Paradise Methodist Church where she became a member of the Nifty Nineties group.
A memorial service will be held at the Paradise United Methodist Church, 6722 Clark Rd, at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 6, with the Rev. Jerry Smith presiding.
A second memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Lodi on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 AM. Officiating pastor will be Rev. Lori Sawdon. A private, family inurnment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
