Richard Otis Simpson, age 81, of 911 Crouch Drive, husband of Evelyn Simmons Simpson, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson.
Born July 5, 1921, in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Richard Calvin Simpson and the late Anna Elizabeth Stancil Simpson. Mr. Simpson retired from Milliken. He also worked for the Anderson Independent-Mail as a newspaper carrier for many years. Mr. Simpson was a United States Army World War II veteran serving in the 10th Mountain Division. He was a member of Covenant of Faith Church of God in Pendleton. Mr. Simpson was twice married, first to the late Mildred Willis Simpson. He was the last member of his immediate family.
