Alfred Barton, aged 79 years, died Saturday afternoon at his home near Troy Center, following a stroke of apoplexy. He was well known and highly respected, being a member of the Grange and a veteran of the Civil war. He is survived by his wife and four children as follows: Ernest Barton of Logan, O., J.E. Barton of Butler, Mrs. Mae Hadtman of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Alice Weldon of Meadville. Funeral services in his memory will be held from his family home this morning at 10 o'clock and the interment will be made in the Troy Center cemetery.
