AKERS, HELEN W. (MELCHER), 87, of Louisville. passed away Friday March 15, 2013 at her home.
She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Ralph Akers; sisters, Catherine Mudd, Dorothy Goldstein- Hoofnel and Peggy Wright; and brothers, Joe Melcher and Don Brown.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie Goldberg (Jack); son, Bob Akers (Debbie); grandchildren, Traci Clifton (Chad) and Chris Hibberd (Crystal); three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be Tuesday, 1p.m. at Ratterman's 3711 Lexington Road, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 11:30 a.m to 1p.m. at the funeral home.
