Mrs. Ripley was preceded in death by her husband, one time curator of the Smoky Hill Historical Museum. They moved to Salina in 1954 from Yonkers, New York. She was a member of Salina's First Presbyterian Church, many organizations of the church and the Asbury hospital auxiliary.
Their son, Dr. G. Sherman Ripley Jr., died May 14, 1970, in Salina. Survivors included three brothers, T. Buckland, Floyd Buckland and Milton Buckland; and four grandchildren.
