Funeral services for George Allen "Tuffie" Wells, 75, of Dry Creek, LA, were held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA. Officiating was the Rev. Tim Deason. Burial followed in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Tuffie was born on November 24, 1937, to Ezra Wells and Mable Conner Wells at Port Arthur, TX. He was a native of Port Arthur and had been a resident of Dry Creek for the past sixteen years. Tuffie was retired from the U.S. Army, earning Three Purple Hearts in Vietnam and retired from the State of LA. He set up the Criminal Justice program at McNeese State University. He enjoyed watching western movies, football games and playing dominoes with his longtime friends from Kinder. Tuffie was an avid hunter with his close friend, Wayne Jackson. Tuffie passed from this life on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, married 20 years of Dry Creek, LA; two daughters; three step children and five grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder LA.
