Mrs. Anna R. Devereaux
MARSHALL- Mrs. Anna R. Devereaux, 89, widow of the late Thomas Devereaux, died Wednesday night in Mercy Hospital at Jackson, where she had been a patient since last May. Surviving are five daughters, Miss Agnes of Florida, Mrs. Anna Poth of Detroit, Mrs. Ruth Newman of Battle Creek, Mrs. Frances Atkins of Homer, Mrs. Bernadine Sheneman of Topinabee and Sister Mary Magdeline of St. Mercy hospital, Jackson; and three sons, Nicholas W. and Richard of Convis township, and Thomas J. Devereaux of Battle Creek. Rosary will be held from the Court Chapel at 9 p.m. Friday and high requiem mass from St. Mary's church of which she was a member at 9 am Saturday followed by burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Battle Creek.

Mrs. Anna R. Devereaux of Convis township passed away at Mercy Hospital in Jackson, Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock, where she had been a patient since May 12, 1945, after suffering a fractured hip. She was born September 26, 1856 in Holly, Michigan the daughter of the late Thomas [John] and Anna Mahar [from Vermontville, MI], and was married to Thomas Deveraux of Marshall, who preceded her in death on December 25, 1916 (error should be 1/1/1916). She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are six daughters, Miss Agnes Devereaux of Florida, Mrs. Anna Poth of Detroit; Mrs. Ruth Newman of Battle Creek, Mrs. Francis Akins of Homer, Sister Mary Magdeline of Mercy Hospital in Jackson and Mrs. Bernadine Sheneman of Topinabee, Mich.; three sons, Nick W. Devereaux of Convis township, Thomas J. Devereaux of Battle Creek and Richard Devereaux of Convis; 25 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be said at 9:00 Friday evening at the Court funeral home and requiem mass will be offered at 9:00 o'clock Saturday morning with Rev. Fr. George Higgings in charge. Burial will be made in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Battle Creek. Friends who wish may call at the funeral home.
