Dr. Robert C. Puestow, 55, of 917 Lincoln Blvd., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Thursday evening at home.
Private family funeral services will be Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert C. Isler will officiate with entombment in Knollwood Memorial Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
Dr. Puestow was born June 7, 1921, at Oshkosh, son of the late Jacob and Jessie Cowen Puestow. He attended Oshkosh grade and high school. He entered the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received his under graduate education and his M.D. Degree.
He served his internship at the University of Pennsylvania and his residency at the Veterans Hospitals at Madison and Hines, Ill. Dr. Puestow served in the U.S. Army in World War II, retiring with the rank of major.
He married Claramae Jones Sept. 13, 1946, at Madison.
Dr. Puestow joined the internal medicine staff of Manitowoc Clinic Jan. 12, 1953. He was a member of American Medical Assn., American Society of Internal Medicine, Wisconsin State Medical Society, Manitowoc County Medical Society and was a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He was on the medical staffs of Memorial and Holy family Hospitals. He was a member of Manitowoc Lions Club since 1955, Elks Lodge No. 687 and Seagulls.
Survivors include his wife, five sons, Dr. Eric C. Puestow, of Jacksonville, Fla., Robert L., Frederick J., Karl C. and Jacob C., of Manitowoc; two step-brothers, Dr. Karver Puestow, of Madison and John Puestow of Oshkosh; two step-sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Phyllis) Wolf, of Lombard, Ill., and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Draheim, of Neenah and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
A step-brother, Dr. Charles Puestow, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn.
