Max Muehlbauer, a resident of Royalton, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 14, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman. Burial was in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery in Buckman.
Max was born Oct. 12, 1927, at home in Buckman Township, Morrison County, to the late Louie and Theresa (Michl) Muehlbauer. He honorably served his country from 1946 to 1947 in the U.S. Army working in the motor pool as a T-Sergeant. Max was united in marriage to Genevieve Guck-Czech Oct. 29, 1954, in Little Falls. He owned and operated Max's Blacksmith Shop in Little Rock for several years. He later worked at Brandl's Garage in Buckman, and retired from Crestliner Boats in Little Falls in 1989. Max loved fishing in the winter and summer, gardening and working on cars. He had a very mechanical mind and learned to repair clocks at an early age. He will be forever remembered for his kind and compassionate heart.
He is survived by wife, Genevieve Muehlbauer of Royalton; children, Karen (Ty) Anondson of Maple Grove, David (Lilly) Czech of Fairbanks, Alaska, Richard Czech of Fairbanks, Linda Dropps of Fairbanks, Dale (Mary Kay) Muehlbauer of Rice and Jeff (Debbie) Muehlbauer of Fairbanks; sisters, Johanna Thell of St. Paul and Theresa Warrick of Sauk Rapids; brother, Tony Muehlbauer of Aitkin; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; children, Rodney Muehlbauer, Ronald Muehlbauer and infant Carla Muehlbauer; brothers, Louie, Joe, Frank and George Muehlbauer; and sisters, Mary Hoover, Clara Felix, Katherine Schenck, Christina Kastanek, and infant Johanna.
