Brian was the son of Henry & Virginia Anders Truett. The grandson of Walter & Geneva Moore Truett & George & Viola Hargraves Anders. He leaves 2 brothers Doug & Greg Hays, and a sister Shonna Truett, 2 nieces Krissy Hays, & Shayla Smith, and one nephew, Cody Hays.

Brian was a very gentle person. He had many friends and loved his pet cats. He will be so missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.

Brian was so stable & reliable & predictable! He worked at the same job from 1988 (when he was in the 11th grade)until July 27, 2002, when his boss, Dr. Sherry Corbett, was killed. He worked 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year. He never took time off for a vacation nor did he have health coverage, but he loved restoring & remodeling historic homes. He was truly a jack of all trades. And you knew you could always find him. Either at work near Dayton Street or at home. If he wasn't home, just wait a few minutes, he went to get something to eat, he'd be back soon.

Brian, you are, and will always remain, much loved & sorely missed. Thank you for being you. The world was not worthy of you. Forever in our hearts you will stay.

Loving Memories

Your gentle face and patient smile, with sadness we recall. You had a kindly word for each and died beloved by all.

The voice is mute and stills the heart, that loved us well and true, Ah, bitter was the trial part from one so good as you.

You are not forgotten loved one, Nor will you ever be, As long as life and memory last, We will remember thee.

We miss you now and our hearts are sore, As times go by we miss you more, Your loving smile, your gentle face, No one can fill your vacant place...

Excerpts from Brian's Online GuestBook:

"Every memory of Hippy is a good one. I loved that he always had a smile on his face every time I saw him. A great guy that will be truly and greatly missed by all of his friends"

"I know you're up ther with God now but I wish you could have stayed with us longer. We will miss you very much."

"Brian was a good person with a big heart. Brian was a big help to me around the house doing handy man work."

"You will be missed Hippy. You were a great friend to many people."

"Take comfort in knowing he is in Heaven and that none of this sorrow is touching him."

"Chewy was always such a laid-back, caring person who could always find some way to make you smile. He will be missed by all those who knew him."

"Those who knew Chewy, knew there was not mean bone in him. It's too bad that he didn't get the chance to touch more people's lives with his great personality, kindness, selflessness, and the overwhelming compassion to other's. But the one's who got the chance to be touched by him, were truly blessed."

"We will miss your wonderful smile everday. You were a big part of our family and we will hold you dear in our hearts. Who is gonna tease my girls? They both mourn for you as do we. You are dearly missed."

"Hippy, we love you and will greatly miss everything about you. You are a wonderful person and will be dearly missed"

"I knew Brian my whole life and can't remember one mean thing he ever said or did.. (although me and Shonna tried his patience lol). Guys like him are rare..."

"I will remember Brian as the only man that stood up to give his seat to his Grandmother. I remember babysitting for Brian and Shonna and bribing them both with Reece's Peanut Butter Cups to get them to take a bath. Brian's name is on my list of people I want to hug when I meet him in Heaven."

What our Loved Ones would say to us... "Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Everything remains as it was. The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no sorrow in your tone. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together."

"Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was. There is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I'm out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again."
