David B. Abbuhl, 79 of New Philadelphia died Monday, July 22, 1996, im Union Hospital at Dover. Born Aug. 7, 1916 in Roxford , Tuscarawas County, he was a son of the late John W. and Linnie Abbuhl, Mr. Abbuhl was a graduate of Central States Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.. In 1955 he started a career in banking as a teller. He was promoted and took on new responsibilities at a steady pace until retiring in 1981 as a president of Banc Ohio, Tuscarawas County area. Mr. Abbuhl was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 510 and a 50 year member of lodge 177 F.& A. M., all of New Philadelphia. He was also a member of Tuscarawas Chamber of Commerce and the Forward New Philadelphia Committe. Mr. Abbuhl served on the advisory board of the Community Improvement Corp of Tuscarawas County and was treasurer of Kent State University Tuscarawas County Branch Foundation. He was also instrumental in the development of the outdoor drama " Trumpet in the land" and was active in Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Kay Thomas in 1990 and by three brothers.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 24, 1996 at 2 p.m. in Emmanual Lutheran Church at 202 E. High Ave.
Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia .
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Kay Thomas in 1990 and by three brothers.
