Died 7:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 1993, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 83, a native of Forest, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Jim Nichols. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia Spillman Graphia and Mickey Graphia, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy L. Spillman Sr. and Joyce Landry Spillman, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Montie Leiden, San Leandro, Calif., Kathleen Smith, Carlsbad, Calif., Myrtle Day, Vacaville, Calif., and Bernice Gill, Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Austin Owens, Bossier City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Carl R. "Mutt" Kimball; parents, John S. and Mary Walton Owens; a daughter, Mavourine Spillman Storm; a brother, John B. Owens; and a sister, Myra O. Derby. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mickey S.
Graphia, John F. Sanchez Jr., Mike Guidroz, Dr. Ferral Endsley, Wayne Griffin and a dear friend, J.F. "Ferdie" LeJeune. She was a member of Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church.
