Company H 8th Michigan Cavalry Regiment

Albert served as a Private with the 8 Michigan Calvary Company-H. He enlisted on January 1, 1863 in Mt.Clemens, Michigan at age 18. He was taken prisoner of war on August 5, 1864 at Macon, Georgia. On April 3, 1865 he was pardoned. He also served as a member of the GRAND ARMY of the REPUBLIC Post-139; Department-Michigan. He also served as a flag holder. His discharge came on June 1, 1865.
