James M. Nibert, 70, of Roswell, died Friday, March 25, 2005.

He was born on May 2, 1934, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to Charles Lewis and Rose Aippersbach Nibert.

He married Elaine A. LeGrand on Nov. 3, 1956, in Roswell.

He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Walker Air Force Base. He attended Eastern New Mexico University where he received a bachelor's degee in 1961 and a master's degree in 1969. He worked for the Internal Revnue Service and was a partner in the Nibert Woodard accounting firm in Clovis. He was a member of the West 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis and Country Club Road Church of Christ in Roswell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles Nibert.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gregory J. Nibert (and wife, Carolyn) of Roswell; a daughter, Kimberly Nibert McDaniel of Clovis; four grandchildren, Jennifer McDaniel of Albuquerque, David McDaniel of Clovis and Gregory and Jeff Nibert, both of Roswell; four brothers, Robert Nibert (Lois) of North Canton, Ohio, Ralph Nibert (Becky) of Warsaw, Ind., William Nibert (Roberta) of Boardman, Ohio, and Harry Nibert (Linda) of Loganville, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Jane Hare of Cleveland, Ohio, Ann Stuckey (Jimmy) of Jonesboro, La., and Stella Olson (Greig) of Portland, Ore.; a son-in-law, Randy McDaniel of Clovis; a brother-in-law, David J. Sorenson of Roswell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at National Cemetery in Santa Fe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home in Portales.
