John Carl Kresge, 68, of R.D. 1 Glen Richey died Tuesday, April 16, 1991, at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born Jan. 16, 1923, in Glen Richey, he was a son of Peter and Mollie (Rumsky) Kresge.
He was a retired bulldozer operator, a Naval Veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville.
He was also a member of the Curwensville American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sons of Italy, Loyal Order of Moose, the Glen Richey Volunteer Fire Dept., and a fourth degree member of the Clearfield Council Knights of Columbus.
He married the former Helen Belinda on July 19, 1952, in Clearfield. She survives alon
with four sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) O'Loughlin of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Kathryn Beaton and Margaret Kresge, both of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Mrs. Genevieve Alvarez of Tampa, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Seller and Ann Wietry.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert P. Fedor as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. in Curwensville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. till the hour of services. A Scripture vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, both at the funeral home.
