Barry
John Henry Barry of Fishers passed away Tuesday, May 24th, 1938 at the Thompson Memorial Hospital in Canandaigua. Mr. Barry was 80 years old and had been active and in good health until stricken with his last illness about three weeks ago. He was skilled in the trades of stone masonry, carpentry, painting and paperhanging at which he had worked within the past year. To his more practical accomplishments, he added the art of playing the violin, and was known throughout Western New York for his music at social gatherings. In his home town and vicinity he was affectionately called "Fiddler" Barry.
Mr. Barry is survived by his widow, Julia Sullivan Barry; two daughters and one son, Mrs. Edward Henderson, Mrs. Mabel Wheeler, both of Rochester; John Ernest of Fishers; one sister, Mrs. Mary Driscoll of Victor, one brother, James of Rochester; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from his late home in Fishers, Friday, May 27th at 8:15 a. m. and from St. Patrick's church in Victor at 9 o'clock. Interment was made in St. Patrick's cemetery.
