In 1956, she married her school sweet-heart Eugene W. Embrey, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Embrey worked as a bookkeeper at Kress Department store for many years, then two other businesses before working in Voter Registration.

Moser Funeral Home Obituary

{She was called Virginia, not Martha. The church is Jehoash Presbyterian Church on Tenerife Road, Catlett. - M. Faith Rumph}

Personal Note by Faith Heflin Rumph: Virginia possessed many fine traits: kindness, dignity, faithfulness in church voluntary work, a sense of what it meant to be a lady, and cheerfulness. She was a widow from the age of 30 and worked until she could not, essentially, despite having a long-standing chronic illness. She had lots of friends and acquaintances, and she loved animals. On top of all that, she had a sense of fashion and style and always appeared in public dressed beautifully with her hair nicely styled.
