The Oklahoman, Saturday, Oct 13, 1934: Rev. L. T. Holcomb will conduct last rites for A. L. Welsh, 75, pioneer city resident and vice president of the Oklahoma City Building and Loan Association, at 4 pm Saturday from First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Street & Draper Funeral Home.

Business associates of Welsh who will act as bearers are W. R. McWilliams, Harry McWilliams, Raymond Everest, J. D. Alexander, Jack Barry and Earl R. Owen. Honorary bearers will be J. M. Owen, Frank Johnson, Guy Blackwelder, Floyd Lamb, E. K. Thurmond, W. F. Hanson, George G. Sholberg, George Spencer, Dennis T. Flynn, C. C. Day, John Boardman, J. H. Everest, Ed S. Vaught, Harry Gerson, J. H. Bollinger, and John B. Hildreth.

Following a long period of ill health, Welsh died Thursday at his home, 215 NW 9th St. Since coming to Oklahoma City 46 years ago from Newton, KS, Welsh had served as city councilman, board of education member, and President of the community fund. He had been active in real estate, abstract and loan business and civic and church affairs.
