Fay I. Seery, 70, of Route 1, Elk City, died Monday at 12:25 p.m. in St. Margaret's Mercy Hospital in Fredonia where he had been admitted Jan. 10.Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Potts Funeral Home Chapel with David Wittenborn, pastor of the Lafontaine Christian Church, officiating assisted by the Rev. Joe Brown of Edna. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home to register after 5 o'clock today.
Fay I. Seery was born March 18,1908, at Rose, Kan., the son of Orin Olander and Mary Clarissa (Brown) Seery. He retired from the Co-op Refinery in Coffeyville after 28 years of service. Following his retirement in 1970 he resided on his farm where he engaged in gardening and raising cattle.
He joined the Christian Church early in life and continued to serve the church. In his final years he served as an elder in the Christian Church at Lafontaine
.He married Wanda Carol Nelson at lola on Feb. 22,1930, and she survives at the home.
Also surviving are three sons, John K. of Wichita, Robert J. of Altamont, Mo., and Larry N. of Lafontaine; one daughter, Mrs. Max (Carol) Rothgeb, Elk City; one brother, Cecil R. of LaLuz, N. M.; one sister, Mrs. Iva Fackler, Chanute; and eight grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
