John George Berry, of Springfield, a former resident of Waverly, died Saturday morning at St. John's hospital in Springfield, following a heart attack while walking along one of the city's streets. He was 74 years of age. Surviving are his wife, Katie; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dora Hart, of Decatur.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, at the Vancil Funeral Home in Springfield, Rev. George Wright, pastor of the Chatham Presbyterian church, officiating.
Burial was in East cemetery, Waverly, at 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete for John George Berry, 74, of 334 1/2 North Fourteenth street, who died at 10:10 a.m. yesterday, apparently of a heart attack, as he walked in the 1600 block on East Mason street. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. John's hospital.
He was born Sept. 17, 1872, in Waverly and was a resident of Springfield for the last 35 years. On Jan. 16,1916, he married Katie Caine. He was a retired landscaper.
Mr. Berry is survived by his wife and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dora Hart, Decatur. The body was removed to the Vancil Funeral Home.
