Martha Lee (Arnall) Robinson, 72 years old, Jay resident, died March 22, 2013 in Grove, Oklahoma with her family by her side.
She was born on August 19, 1940 in Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas, first child of Page G. Arnall and Lenora Tharp Arnall. Martha graduated from Ardmore high school in 1957. She attended NSE and received a minor in Business and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. She married the love of her life, John R. Robinson on June 16, 1961; they celebrated 44 years together until his death in October 2005. Martha worked many jobs, she taught in public schools in Adair and Jay, Oklahoma from 1966 - 1973; was a customer service representative at Grand Telephone Company in Jay from 1973 - 1976. She worked as a legal secretary for Gene A. Davis from 1977 - 1987, then as a legal secretary for Wallace and Owens Law Firm in Miami from 1989 - 1990; Martha was the Delaware County Deputy County Clerk from July 1990 - June 1992. Then worked as a legal secretary / Paralegal at the Jay office of Wallace and Owens Law Firm, now Morrow, Wilson, Watson, and James July 1 - 1992 - 2012. She was a member of the Jay First United Methodist Church; was church secretary and treasure for several years, she was also the pianist / organist and choir director for over 30 years. She was a member of Eastern Star, A Charter member of Jaycee Jaynes, as well as a Cub Scout Den mother.
Martha enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She loved Sunday afternoon Dallas Cowboy and Kansas City Chief football games. She really enjoyed watching NASCAR with her son. Martha loved playing the piano; she played for many local events, pageants, weddings and funerals. She also played the flute.
Martha is predeceased by her parents; her husband; brother, Joe Arnall; and grand-dog Baxter Kringle.
She leaves many loving memories with her family, daughter, Kelley Robinson and companion Rabbit Teague of Jay; son, John Page Robinson and wife Pamela of Grove, Sister, Judith Gregory of Stilwell; nephew Major Karl Eric Gregory (currently serving in Afghanistan) and wife Muriel of Ft. Drum, NY; niece Angela McPhail and husband John of Joplin; great-nieces and great nephews, Brittany, Kevin and Patrick Gregory, Logan, Emma, Page, Karlee Jo, and Titus McPhail; Nan-children, Lindsey Howard, Ridge Howard, Sadie Wohlfarht, and Casey Stratton; great nan-children, Ruby Mae Wohlfarht and June Marie Howard; great step-grandchildren, Riley Bacon, Ty Bacon, Jordan Youngpuppy; a host of extenden family and friends, especially Richard and Kedra James and Carl and Barbara Larkin.
The family would like to express their gratitude for her compassionate care from Christal, Brenda, Toni, Keneta, and countless others at Good Sheperd Hospice. Graveside Services will be held 10:00AM Wednesday March 27, 2013 at Duffield Cemetery. John McPhail and Reverend Julie Dowler will be officiating. Angela McPhail will be singing. Honorary bearers will be Richard D. James, Coy D. Morrow, Dennis J. Watson, W. Neil Wilson, Rush James, Stan Jones, Wayne Dunham, John Stevenson, Rabbit Teague, John Beaty, and Chris Beaty.
