Storz, The Brewer, Dies In Nebraska OMAHA, Neb.

Arthur C. Storz Sr., 88, whose Storz Brewing Co. was one of the leading beer makers in the Midwest, died at his Omaha home Friday night after a lengthy illness. Storz, prominent in aviation, was a leader in civilian support of the Air Force and the Strategic Air Command. He was an Army airman in World War I. The Storz company was started in 1876 by Gottlieb Storz, a native of Germany. Gottlieb Storz died in 1939 and left the company to sons Adolph G., Arthur C. and Robert H. Arthur Storz became board chairman of the company that distributed beer to nine states under the Storz label for more than 90 years. The family sold the business to an Iowa investment firm in 1966 and the brewery was closed in 1972.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Arthur C. Jr. and Robert H.; a daughter, Mrs. John Markel Jr.; a brother, Robert H. Storz, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled at St. Cecilia's Cathedral at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.
