David Batchelor
1943 - March 19, 2013
David Batchelor, Ledgedale, died Tuesday evening in the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center after an illness.
His wife of 69 years is the former Mabel M. Frisbie.
Born in Ledgedale, he was the son of the late William and Anna Nellis Batchelor. He was a graduate of the former Lake Consolidated School and was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement he had been employed as a school bus contractor for over 40 years and was also a self employed dairy farmer and bee keeper. He loved hunting.
Also surviving are sons Ted and his wife Cheryl of Lakeville and Tom of Ledgedale; daughters Laurel Eime and her husband Arthur of Bath and Susan Klonoski and her husband John Ledgedale; grandchildren David, Richard, Edward, Kim, Jason and Barry; five great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Ted, Edward and William; sisters Frances Batchelor and Ruth Huntington.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel. Friends may call Monday from 4-7pm.
Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ledgedale Volunteer Fire Company c/o Tom Sawyer 27 Sledzinski Rd. Lake Ariel 18436.
