Olive Blanch Fisher, daughter of Isaac and Lucinda Fisher, was born near Waverly, in the Prospect neighborhood, November 5, 1865, and died at her home in Springfield, Thursday morning, April 18, 1935, at 1:15, being 69 years, 5 months and 13 days of age.
On September 24, 1889, she was married to Frank E. Kennedy. For a short time Mr. Kennedy was assistant principal of the Waverly High School, going from here to Girard as principal. In 1904 the Kennedys moved to Springfield, where they have since resided, Mr. Kennedy serving many years as principal of Springfield grade schools. At present he is employed by the board of education as a clerk for circulating books and chauffeur for crippled children.
While residing in Talkington township Mrs. Kennedy was identified with Prospect church, but upon leaving her home community became active in the Baptist church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Central Baptist church of Springfield.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Kennedy is survived by four sons, Luther E., of Tulsa, Okla.; Fletcher, of Wink, Texas; Ivan and Wendell, both of Springfield; one daughter, Pauline (Mrs. C. B.) Schmeltzer, of St. Louis; also two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Burns, of Springfield and Mrs. Emma Lowrance, of Eldorado Springs, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Bancil Funeral Home in Springfield Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. A. E. Browning officiating, and burial was in East cemetery, Waverly.
