Catherine Theresa Allessio, born on December 16, 1914 to the late Antonio and Maria Theresa Mazzei Allessio in Eskdale (Cabin Creek) went to heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 to be with her God and Father and all her loved ones – what a joyous reunion they are having at this time.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her siblings; Sammy, John, and Mary Allessio.
Surviving are her sister, Rosa "Rosie" Walker; nieces and a nephew; Julia (Duke) Linzy, of Charleston, WV, Maria Deskins of Charleston, WV, Mary (Mark) Koehler of Middleburg Heights, Ohio and John (Laura) Allessio of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and great nieces and nephews, Duke William, Amanda, Rosa, Jimmy, Lauren, Christopher, A.J. and McKenzie.
Catherine worked at her family's store in Eskdale, Tony Allessio's Supermarket. She later moved to the east end of Charleston where she helped her baby sister Rosie raise her two daughters, Fawn Maria and Julia Ann whom she loved dearly.
Funeral Service will be held at Noon Saturday, September 8, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, WV.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living, Glasgow, WV who loved her very much, and special thanks to Dr. Dominguez and the caring staff on the third floor of Montgomery General Hospital. A special thank you goes to Father Rice of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Montgomery, WV.
