Vitus A. Wiegert, 55, of 359 N. State St., Chilton, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Calumet Memorial Hospital at Chilton where he had been a patient since Sunday.

Born at Route 1, Cato, Manitowoc County, on Dec. 29, 1914, he was the son of Vitus and Emma Klann Wiegert. He married Sophie Lemke on Oct. 14, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Rantoul.

Mr. Wiegert was a farmer in the Town of Rantoul until eight year ago when he moved to Chiton where he was employed by Cooperative Oil Co. as a salesman and serviceman for DeLaval.

He was a member of the Christian Circle of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Chilton.

Survivors include his widow; one son, the Rev. William Wiegert of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; one grandchild; two brothers, Erwin of Route 1, Cato, and Hugo of Two Rivers; and five sisters, Mrs. George Essie of Valders, Mrs. Frank Burseck of Manitowoc, Mrs Arthur Flessert of Two Rivers, Mrs. Issac Hanson of Route 1, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Kenneth Larson of Route 1, Cato.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Chilton, with Pastor Robert Novotney officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Rantoul.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, and at the church from noon Saturday until the time of services.
