Jacob E. Nye, 77, 282 East Market Street, well known resident of the Heights section, died yesterday morning at 9 at his home where he was born on October 3, 1864. He had been ill some time.
Deceased was an employe of City Health Department some years ago. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church and the Eagles.
Surviving are his widow, the former Margaret Alles; three children, Joseph, at home; Edward, Waterbury, Conn.; Mrs. Mark Trainor, city. He also leaves these grandchildren: Mrs. Louis Koneski, Rochester, N. Y.; Harold Ney, Fort Dix, N. J.; Edward J. Ney and J. Clayton Ney, both of Waterbury, Conn.; and Louise Trainor, city. A sister, Mrs. Kate Barrett, Cincinnati, also survives.
Funeral will be held from the home Monday morning with high mass of requiem in St. Nicholas Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover.
