EDGAR STEGEMANN

Edgar Stegemann, age 84, of 2905 School Street in Two Rivers, died Saturday afternoon, March 5, 1994, at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc.

He was born March 27, 1909, in Two Rivers, son of the late Robert and Alvina (née Stuerwaldt) Stegemann.

On November 28, 1928, he married the former Della Schmidt, in Two Rivers; she preceded him in death August 4, 1989.

He attended St. John's Parochial School and was baptized at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family moved to Sheboygan in 1919, and lived there for 5 years. He was confirmed in 1922, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Sheboygan. They moved back to Two Rivers in 1925 and started Sunshine Grocery on the corner of 22nd and Forest Avenue. Later they added a bakery shop and meat market in 1932, they started a second store on East street and a short time later started a store on Two Rivers' southside, which is presently Rollie's Market, which they operated for three years. He was affiliated with the Sentry Stores for over 60 years. He semi-retired at age 62. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Men's Club, Dartball League, and a former member of the Manitowoc County Grocers' Association.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Joyce, Two Rivers, Alan and Cindy, Two Rivers; a daughter, Lois Clarksen, Two Rivers; a sister, Mrs. Dolores Carron, Two Rivers; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum.
