WILBERT H. TAYLOR

Wilbert H. Taylor, age 86, of 716 S. 32nd St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 1993, at St. Pauls Catholic Church. Father Ronald P. Reimer will officiate with entombment in Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.

He was born September 21, 1906, in Merrill, Wis., son of the late John (Jack) and Marie Howard Taylor. He attended Merrill High School and received a BA Degree at the University of Milwaukee, and a MA Degree from the University of Iowa. Following his education he taught in Manitowoc for many years, and later was a principal of Adams, Cleveland and Garfield Schools. He also was a director of Special Education and Auto (sic) Visual Aids Department.

He married Vivian Gutsche November 15, 1929, at Gesu Church, Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 1988.

He was past secretary of the Rotary Club, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, past president of Marta, past president of the Board of Education of St. Pauls Catholic Church. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, life member of Phi-Delta Kappa.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Drs. David and Linda Taylor, Macomb, Ill., a daughter, Jean Roche, Madison; three grandchildren; one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Taylor (#119230110), Andrew (#41460317), and Floyd, all of Merrill, Lincoln County, Wisconsin.

Friends may call at the St. Pauls Catholic Church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. There will be no Friday evening visitation. The Jens Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
